The Wanderer and Death
On the subject of fear, a little story from the net. It fits the current situation:
“Death is sitting outside the city wall waiting. A wanderer comes by, sits down with him and asks, “What are you doing here?” Death replies, “I’m going into town to get a hundred people.” The wanderer runs into town and excitedly shouts, “Death is going to come and take 100 people!”As a result, all the people run into their houses in panic and lock themselves in for many weeks – 5,000 people die. When the wanderer leaves, Death is still sitting there and the wanderer angrily says, “You were going to take 100 people, but there were 5,000!” Death replied, “I took 100, sick and old, like every week. The rest were taken by fear, for which you were responsible!”
The story directs us to the topic of thought hygiene.
Tip: Occupy yourself with pleasant things that bring you joy. Rejoice in small circumstances that are not commonplace. Have positive conversations. Go for a walk in the forest and listen to the birds. Meditate.
